Yes. A non-refundable booking fee holds your appointment and comes off the final price of your tattoo, so it isn't an extra cost. The amount depends on the size of the piece.

PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE A BOOKING FEE UNLESS WE HAVE ALREADY CONFIRMED YOUR APPOINTMENT DATE, TIME, AND DESIGN.

Pay your booking fee

Once, with at least four days' notice.

Booking fees can be rolled over one time only under the following conditions:

• You reschedule with at least 4 days' notice (96 hours before your appointment).

If you need to reschedule more than once, even with proper notice, your original deposit will be voided and a new booking fee will be required to book another date.

The fee protects Tevin's time, so it's forfeited in these cases.

Booking Fees Will Be Forfeited If:

• You cancel or reschedule with less than 4 days' notice.
• You no-call/no-show your appointment.
• You arrive more than 30 minutes late without communication.
• You show up under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
• You show up without a valid ID.
• You bring children without prior approval (this can disrupt the session).
• You arrive with a medical condition that risks safety (e.g., flu symptoms, COVID-related concerns, rashes, sunburn).
• You use numbing cream without prior approval.
• You request major changes to the design the day of your appointment.
• You take my design and have it tattooed elsewhere.

Ask before your appointment day. Major changes requested on the day forfeit the booking fee.

If you request significant design changes after we've already started your concept, or if you change your mind entirely, an extra design fee may apply based on the time required.

Design fees are separate from your booking fee and non-deductible from your final tattoo price.

Pay for your tattoo

Bring your idea and any reference photos you like. Tevin draws every piece custom and doesn't copy designs straight off the internet, so the final artwork is original and fitted to where it sits on your body.

Yes. North Carolina law (G.S. 14-400) prohibits tattooing anyone under 18, with or without parental consent.

Bring a valid ID to your appointment. Showing up without one forfeits your booking fee.

A few small things make the session easier on your body.

• Eat a solid meal. It keeps your blood sugar steady during the session.
• Moisturize the skin in the days leading up to your appointment.
• Skip alcohol the night before.
• Dress comfortably, in loose clothing that gives easy access to the area.
• Rest up. A good night's sleep helps your body handle the session.

All numbing creams must be approved ahead of time and applied according to artist instructions. Use of numbing creams without approval may result in:

• Loss of booking fee
• Compromised tattoo quality
• Cancellation of the session

Some, but rarely as much as first-timers fear. How much depends on the placement, your mindset and the size of the piece, and your body adjusts quickly once the linework starts.

Tevin's advice: choose a placement for how it will look, not for how it might feel.

Tevin uses brand-new, sterile, individually sealed needles for every client and opens them in front of you. The workspace is sanitized before and after every session, and the Cleveland County Health Department inspects the studio every year.

For the first three days, wash it and rewrap it on a routine. If you left with Saniderm, the routine is shorter (see the next question).

In the next few days

During the evening, upon waking up, and every 5-7 hours:

• Wash your hands. Use warm water and antibacterial soap.
• Remove bandage or plastic. Expect a film over your tattoo, a mix of natural healing fluids and possibly some tattoo color. This is normal and will wash away.
• Wash your tattoo. Use warm water and antibacterial soap, washing gently with clean hands. Avoid using a washcloth or anything abrasive.
• Dry your tattoo. Pat dry with a fresh, clean towel, avoiding wiping. Be gentle.
• Wrap your tattoo. After washing and drying, wrap your clean, dry tattoo with a fresh piece of plastic wrap (e.g., Saran ClingWrap). Always use a new piece and rewrap every 5-7 hours. Do not apply ointments or lotions under the wrap.

After the first 3 days

• Plastic wrap is no longer necessary. Wash your tattoo every morning, night, every few hours, and immediately after exposure to anything unsanitary. Keep all pets away from your new tattoo for 7-10 days.
• Use an unscented lotion. Apply unscented lotions like Aquaphor or Lubriderm. These lotions will alleviate dryness, tightness, and itching, promoting healing. Apply a few times a day as needed for a few weeks.

In the next 48 hours

• Never pick, scratch, or slap your fresh tattoo.
• Avoid soaking in saunas, steam, or tubs.
• Do not use ointments or petroleum jelly.
• Avoid exposure to chlorine in swimming pools, lake or beach waters, and sand.
• Keep your tattoo covered while in the sun for the first 12 weeks, using sunblock thereafter.
